You And Your Time
Pastor W. F Kumuyi
"So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom" (Psalms 90:12).
In their delusion, sinners mistake this world for reality. Consequently, they scheme and strive all through their miserable lives to acquire certificates and material possessions. In this misguided quest for shadows, they miss the substance. On this, Richard Baxter wrote, "Spend your time in nothing which you know must be repented of; in nothing on which you might not pray for the blessing of God; in nothing which you could not review with a quiet conscience on your dying bed." Wise people still seek Jesus today. The word of God enlightens our spiritual understanding to the vanity of this material world and to invest in true reality "“ the kingdom of God. Knowing this, Christians ought to plan each day of their lives in the light of the word of God. This requires wise prioritization of spiritually productive activities in the daily allocation of our time. Living in the consciousness of sudden return of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, will drive us to give the very best of our time to God. Use your time well at school, office and home.
Challenge: Time with God is actually invested, not spent!
Prayer: O God, teach me to always invest my time well.
Quote: Use your time well at school, office and home
