The Fruits Of Diligence (II)
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalms
108, Psalms 109, Psalms 110, Colossians 3, Colossians 4
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Proverbs
31:13-27 (KJV)
13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her
household, and a portion to her maidens.
16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her
hands she planteth a vineyard.
17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her
arms.
18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth
not out by night.
19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the
distaff.
20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth
forth her hands to the needy.
21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her
household are clothed with scarlet.
22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is
silk and purple.
23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the
elders of the land.
24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles
unto the merchant.
25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice
in time to come.
26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the
law of kindness.
27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not
the bread of idleness.
MEMORY VERSE: “The
soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent
shall be made fat.” – Proverbs 13:4
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:

PRAISE AND WORSHIP:
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit
PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
I DECREE THAT TODAY, HEAVEN WILL RELEASE THE REWARDS OF YOUR
DILIGENCE, IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
MESSAGE:
Yesterday, we learnt that diligent people are reliable,
responsible and conscientious in whatever task they are entrusted with. We were
counselled to be diligent in everything we do because God expects nothing less.
We also learnt that the rewards of diligence are so invaluable that we ought to
covet them in time and eternity.
The story of David illustrates the importance of diligence. He took care of his father’s sheep with all the strength and ability that he had. In God’s eyes, it meant more than the success of David’s brothers who were in the army. God rewarded David’s faithful and diligent performance of his minor task and committed the rule of His people into his hands. Also, in Proverbs 31, the Bible presents a woman who lived a diligent life. “She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands… She gets up while it is still dark… She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks… She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness” (Proverbs 31:13-27).
In the New Testament, the Bible attests to the diligence of
Epaphras. He is mentioned only two times. He probably started the church in
Colossae. At the end of Paul’s letter to the Colossians, he writes this about
Epaphras: “Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends
greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in
all the will of God, mature and fully assured. I vouch for him that he is
working hard for you and for those at Laodicea and Hierapolis” (Colossians
4:12-13). Beloved, diligence earned Elisha a double portion of Elijah’s
anointing!
Diligence is a man’s precious possession. Find your divine
assignment; faithfully and diligently discharge it. As you do so with small
tasks, God will entrust you with bigger ones and reward you handsomely. In your
place of work, are you truly faithful and diligent? If you have been doing your
work with slothful and slipshod attitude, I counsel you to repent today. Be
faithful and diligent in fasting and praying, your service to God and humanity,
soul winning, kingdom building, parenting and making disciples of converts. You
will not miss your rewards, in the name of Jesus.
