Calvary Pointers Morning Showers 20 October 2023 Devotional by Reverend Ajisafe Opeyemi - Fulfilling God's Plan For Your Life 2
Fulfilling God's Plan For Your Life 2
“Don’t be ridiculous!” Saul replied. “There’s no way you can fight this Philistine and possibly win! You’re only a boy, and he’s been a man of war since his youth.” But David persisted. “I have been taking care of my father’s sheep and goats,” he said. “When a lion or a bear comes to steal a lamb from the flock, I go after it with a club and rescue the lamb from its mouth. If the animal turns on me, I catch it by the jaw and club it to death.

You will never move forward until you learn to face your fears and move past them. Being a Christian doesn’t mean that you are fearless. We all have fears but what’s important is that we rely on the Word of God to help us move beyond them.
As you begin to walk out the plan that God has for your life, you will no doubt be met with unpredicted battles, roadblocks, setbacks, mountains, and giants along the path.
When David, the young shepherd boy, was told by his father to take some provisions to his brothers, he had no idea that his life would forever be changed that day.
He walked to a scene of battle that had no activity. King Saul and the entire army of Israelites were all in fear because of a dreadful giant named Goliath. They were so fearful and afraid of him that none of the generals could face him.
When David arrived he heard the taunts of the giant and had no hesitation to go out and fight with him. He accepted the challenge and quickly defeated the giant with one stone and a slingshot. One blow to the giant’s forehead sent him crashing down to the ground.
Whaooo, God gave David victory over Goliath, the champion of the Philistines with just one stone and a slingshot. David went to him in the name of the Lord. The name of the Lord is indeed a strong tower. You'll prevail over all your enemies in Jesus name.
What was it about David that was so different?
What would give a teenage boy the confidence to face an enemy that was way more advanced and experienced than he was?
The thing that set David apart from the entire army of Israelites was the fact that David knew that His God was for Him. He had already overcome his fears when he fought the bear and lion. He knew the same God that helped him defeat the bear and the lion would also help him defeat the giant.
Beloved, you need to understand and analyze these three points to aid you in fulfilling God's plan for your life:
1. What is it that you know God is calling you to do at this moment?
2. Identify the obstacles and distractions that are keeping you from moving forward.
3. Ask God for strength and guidance to get beyond any fears that are holding you back.
Good Morning!
God bless you!
